I could NOT thank Ea enough for introducing me to one of the best of Mr. Ong's works. I finished this in one sitting! I just could not put it down!

And the clincher part of it is it's TAGALOG! And I LOVED it till the very last ink blot. He brought satire to Filipino writing and made it work without sacrificing substance. Kind of a less gloomy Lualhati Bautista work.

The title can be misleading. Till this day, it still has me baffled. Why Stainless Longganisa?

Anyway, I REALLY recommend this book to practically anyone looking for a good read for the summer.

Definitely better than the first "Almighty" movie. A whole lot more wholesome too than Bruce Almighty. But Jim Carey can carry the character better, Steve Carell can be over the top sometimes. Morgan Freeman has that edge that makes him perfect for the Character. I LOVE IT.

There were more Biblical Parallels to learn from too. And I love the plot sequence-ing from start to finish.

At first I was kind of worried that God would go back on his word about not sending a flood to destroy human kind (in the movie I mean). The twists in the end were BRILLIANT. The only criticism I have is I just thought that the flood was too short for such a big ark to begin with. And it should've probably taken him a lot longer than till the 22nd of September for him to have finished the Ark even with the help of all those animals and his family.

I really appreciated that they made it a family movie now compared to Bruce Almighty. These movies could always do without the cursing and the adultish scenes as well.

Four thumbs up Evan Almighty.

I betcha there's gonna be a moses-like sequel. hehehe.

I saw this in one of those dollar movies in Arizona. It was ok. Humor. A tad green. But it was good. I love the Napoleon Dynamite And Will Ferrel Combination. Michael Douglas makes a GREAT antagonist!

STELLAR. The plot was AWE-ASTOUNDING. The first 10 minutes of the movie complicated things a bit. I just love the medley and chemistry of all 13 guys plus Al Pachino put together.

The moral? Never own a casino.

NUFF SAID.

Funny...How?

In a nutshell, I didn't get the plot. I'm guessing that's how all comedic movies run. There were times when you'd want to tear the hair off Mr. Bean's head and times when you'd wonder HEY WHERE'D THAT COME FROM? Or WHY DIDN'T HE THINK OF THAT?

Even a 5 year old could figure that out. Without getting stuck in a roadside bathroom.

Funny...on the verge of irritating but funny.

Plot-wise (again) it was good. It was short. But everything fitted in that no more than 1 and a half hour movie. I just wished it had a longer ending.

Moral? Overrated. Something atypically read out of a fortune cookie. "tell-us-something-we-don't-know-or-haven't-watched-in-another-feel-good-movie" ish.

But it was good. Hilarious.

Out of the Spidey trilogy, this I have say had the most "filing". The plot started a little in the middle. The twists were perfect. I wouldn't have it any other way. I just wished Harry didn't have to die. But he didn't die in vain. I bet he's happily reunited with Goblin Sr.

This time it wasn't the overrated "with great power..." anymore. Indeed we all have a choice to do what is right. And that's what stuck even more than how venom stuck to Spidey's suit.

For the first time, I felt like it wasn't one dimensional in plot. Although I couldn't help but wish other parts ended differently. I loved the upbeat. Parker's quirkyness just won the hearts of everyone.

I definitely would endorse it to young people. I'm glad the "reel" world hasn't lost it's touch with substance and principle.

Thumbs up spidey! :D

This was actually the first thriller I ever watched (and hopefully the last. I was force-fed ok?). Although I did emerge from the cinema a little shaken, plot-wise it wasn't half bad. It was actually really good! Except it wasn't believable from the begining and it was VERY predictable.

I knew just in time when I should duck and cover or whip out my phone to pretend to text (after that I'd go: "Did I miss anything?")

Then again, it was refershing and it gave me a more graphic picture of a "contemporary" ten comandments with a different plot. But anchoring on a theoretical limb, this seemed almost too unreasonable to happen (you'll know what I'm talking about when you watch the movie). Plus the theory that the plagues could've been brought about by an ancient demon is just wrong (or even satan himself according to the movie).

I mean what's the girl for? I don't get it. Then they come up with this cultic urban legend and try to fuse it with the original. The girl is like a pawn. She controlled every plague and conflict that happened in the movie. Big whoop.

I think it would make non-christians think twice about what God can still do today. I mean, it's not like he's changed since then ten plauges. But it serves more as a warning than a thriller and hopefully it impresses a lasting message on its audience.

Cinematography was brilliant. I loved it.

Now I know why his greatest album was entitled "Genius loves company". That's for you to find out. His primary agenda in music was to collaborate the upbeat of Rn'B and Gospel. To every black preacher and church that time, that was the ultimate taboo. Still, his music soared higher than the note of their church vibrato and tore through the asbestos roof (I mean that in a good way).

Genius.

Ray Charles Robinson.

This (I have to say) is the MOST pathetic movie I have ever seen (you can hear my blood pressure sky rocket while I watched it). Also I doubt if it was even a hit anywhere in the world. It was corny and exaggerated in all the wrong places. The plot can be likened to a bowl of mixed nuts. It was just sad.

Words fail me.

But it was so darn funny.

I just finished the book Dennis lent me. I dunno if I should be happy I did. I feel acomplished (having finished the book in 2 and a half days!) but sober. It was true, Dennis' foreshadow about it. I felt like I just finished another of Victor Hugo's works.

I can't tell whether this an acurate account of someone who managed to survive (since the setting of this was during the holocaust) or just an exaggeration...but then again...it could be the account of everyone during that time...

Contrasting to the more real and graphic books I've read, the author gave more depth to the emotional and mental conflicts enveloping the character throughout the whole plot.

There's still that question of whether the book intends to jeopardize the faith of the reader (since there was NO indication that the character actually kept the faith in spite of his anguish until the end) or to simply make him THINK.

I don't know how to make my insights on the book verbatim. But like all good thought provoking books, it ends all of a sudden. No light-hearted parts. It starts and ends with one common theme that is everyone at the brink of their lives. This kind of premise the follows the character will keep you at the edge of your seat as you read.

I'll give it a 3 out of 5. I felt like it was Columbia and Sony's "Trying hardest to be like Dreamworks" work...I mean, it was obvious that the 3 animation movie giants (Pixar, Dreamworks and Sony) are at each others necks when it comes to films casting funny voiced Animals! (Sony's gonna have to do better than Aston Kutcher), but I mean Open Season is nothing compared to the Comic genius of Shrek or Finding nemo...

Open season had it's fair share of hilarity but it was very minimal and slightly overrated...like when the Animals joined forces to drive the hunters out using their Artillery of women's Lingerie and utensils. I mean how many times have we seen cartoon animals do that? Case in point...TARZAN 2 and other Animal movies I forgot...I felt it was cliche...but I enjoyed it...

If you'll pay attention to the voice talent, you'll hear the guy voicing the Big ANTLERED Deer is Kronk from the emperor's new groove...Just an observation...

Big' uns like Ice age and Wallace and Gromit will kick the Antlers off this Kid movie...But I enjoyed it...It was a feel good movie with a very common theme...I know it'll be a hit for kids out there...The row of teenybopper girls behind us made sure it was...

It was a good movie...I'll give it a three...

:)

This has got to one of the best song ever arranged. The chrord progression is BRILLIANT! It was amazing how they blended Acoustic and Folk together to make a beautiful semi-folk, semi-acoustic masterpiece.

People you HAVE to pay attention to EVERYTHING if you want to be tagged as an official CRITIQUE! Like you can hardly notice the beat box contrasting from the guitar but it's what really adds to it rhythmitically (please be a word)...WIthout it, the song would sound like a sad acoustic funeral song...or one of those "love me to death" kind of songs...(I don't know what they are either)...

So the lyrics carry a lot of soul in them...I mean the song it's self is so nostalgic and sentimental it lets your mind drift to the good old days...There's not too much MUSH which is GOOD because it was more reminicent and really just time oriented...

It's a great song people...I salute Norah Jones...

This book was famous among the baby-boomers and during Hendrix's time. So it wouldn't make sense to the people who don't really know who Merv Griffin, Walter Alias (And his infamous last name), Stephen Foster and other old famous people. Simply stunning, this book reveals all deep and well kept pasts of these people. I dunno who would still give hoot about them today. Most of them are dead already.

This is the only book that kept me on the edge of my seat while reading it.

I like the fact that it foreshadows the ending. The ending is always the best part. I make it a point that I ALWAYS cover the ending as not to spoil the best part. And you can't stop at one. One story leads to another...until you realize, you're already reading the back of the book...It's a page turner sometimes when I don't know who the person is...So there...

I don't know if they still have copies since it's REALLY old...But it's a great book...
